Frequently asked questions

A celebrant is someone who trained to deliver a service tailored to your wishes. Whatever the occasion, a celebrant’s goal is to construct a service bespoke to you. Collaborating with you as your celebrant, I spend time getting to know you which then results in a ceremony which is unique and personalised to you.

Another benefit to a celebrant led service is that you can have a service which is as religious, as secular, or as spiritual as you desire. I ensure that your values, beliefs, and personality are reflected in the service.

Above all, there truly are very few limitations when it comes to having a celebrant lead your service. It really is about having your day, your way!

I am based in North West London, but I am happy to travel for a service.

Absolutely. When entrusting someone to lead such an important service for you, it is important that you meet or at least have a video chat.

Whilst a service led by me as a celebrant will be meaningful and memorable a celebrant led service  in England and Wales is not legally binding. Should you wish to formalise the legal requirements for a marriage or civil partnership you must contact a Registrar and hold a service, accompanied by two witnesses, in a registry office. This should ideally take place before your service with myself.

Deposits – A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the overall cost of your ceremony/service will be payable once we have agreed to go ahead and you have submitted a booking form.

Travel expenses – Please note that my prices include travel costs up to a 20 mile radius of my location in north west London. After that, any additional mileage is charged at 45p per mile.

Accommodation – I am more than happy to travel throughout the UK if required.  However, in the event that accommodation is needed, the cost of this will be added to the final invoice.

Final payment – The remaining balance is required eight weeks prior to the ceremony date. Ceremony script will be sent out on receipt of payment of the final invoice.

Cancellations – In the unlikely event that I need to cancel due to circumstances beyond my control, you will be contacted immediately. I will attempt to secure another celebrant who can conduct your service as we have planned. The balance you have paid up to that point will be refunded to you.

Should you need to cancel my services this must be made in writing  and your deposit will not be refunded. The following cancellation fees apply:

Cancellation within 2 months of the booked date: 50% of final fee.

Cancellation within 1 months of the booked date: 75% of final fee.

Add to this any expenses already paid by the celebrant such as travel and accommodation.

As a celebrant I do need to collect certain information from a client, but I only collect the data which is necessary to perform my job. Information will be kept secure and will be destroyed/deleted 3 months after your ceremony/service. Should you choose not to use my services any emails and contact details will be deleted 3 months after your initial enquiry.

All correspondence, including any ceremony examples must be kept confidential before and after the event and such information can only be shared with written permission.

It is always lovely to receive positive feedback, plus actual photographs from ceremonies are wonderful to see. They help paint a picture for others to enjoy.  Any testimonials and photographs used on my website and social media accounts are only there after I have gained written permission by a client and a photographer where their images have been used.
